Lab Overhaul a big success!

See http://photos.4eanes.com/ for pictures!

Last Saturday was a true “Mustang Moment” when 19 volunteers and their kids spent the morning reorganizing the Science Lab after its last minute move to room 43. This was a big job and having a big team made an impact. We did a complete overhaul: the lab was completely cleared and then rebuilt. I’m proud to say that we are open for teacher requests again!

The lab is a key part of providing excellent science education on campus. Please stop and thank these hard working volunteers: Alexander Hirschfeld, Amanda Schmidt, Bill Baldwin, Cathy Miller, Cindy Probst, Colleen Harris, Genie Ramsdell, Grant Sparks, Joanne Parker, Ken Krakow, Laura Babineau, Lee Deviney, Mark Urdall, Michael Marx, Nicole David, Rob Hirschfeld, Roni Koluntiak, Sandy Choate, Susan Claunch. The lab skeleton, Dr. Seymour Bones, provided much needed supervision.

Split club into teams by age?

I’m planning to split the club by grade level for this year. We’ll have groups serving K-2 and 3-5 so that we can provide more age appropriate activities. I expect that both groups will meet at the same time and do the same basic activities. However, we’ll have higher expectations for the older kids to complete projects at home and listen to background content as part of the meeting.
